Seasons of Creation
This term at St Peter’s Catholic High School, Gloucester we have been focusing on Creation and the Environment one of our Catholic Social Teaching Principles.
In CAFOD Club students played the ‘Climate Game’ and after discussions they decided to engage the school community, especially Year 7 and 8 students, in ‘Promises for Creation’ to celebrate the Feast day of St Francis of Assisi.
Sreya and Evolet explain ‘In CAFOD Club we cut out paper leaves and sent them to all the form classes in years 7 and 8 and asked them to write a promise or a prayer about our responsibility to care for God’s creation. We then collected the leaves and attached them to a tree that we put in our school chapel.’
‘Doing this helped me to remember to think before I act. We all have a copy of a prayer card that CAFOD sent to us which we used in our form prayers’.
