In science we passionately inspire a love of learning building an adoration for the world we live in and develop inquisitive learners that are able to make life choices to have a positive impact on themselves, their communities and the wider world.
- Implementation:
Science is taught with the best evidence-based teaching practice. Retrieval practice in every lesson to consolidate learning. New concepts expertly modelled with visualisers, physically with scientific practicals and graphic organisers. Questioning of students, cold call questioning with guided and independent student deliberate practice of taught content. In lesson whole class feedback for content and test material.

Carefully measured success for all students doing science.
Students leave St Peter's able to enter society with the skills needed and knowledge to live a full life.
Students are able to understand how science can be used to explain how and why things occur.
Many students continue their scientific journey in vocational pathways and at University to study the sciences at the highest level.

The goods of the earth are gifts from God. We have a responsibility to care for these goods as stewards and trustees, not as mere consumers and users. Students will develop an appreciation that we are tenants of one community on Earth. The need to live in a sustainable manner ensuring resources are not simply drained and wasted but nurtured and preserved for the next communities.

Additional Information: Students following the combined science course will also have 1 hour per fortnight of Science Maths Focus to review key mathematical skills needed to access the science course, and revise the required practical experiments.
