St Peter’s High School Curriculum
Our curriculum is unmistakably student centred
Our curriculum is carefully designed to be ambitious, inclusive and aligned with the needs of all learners. It is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains current and effective, most recently prepared in July 2025.
The offer is inspiring, stimulating and challenging for all. It provides St Peter’s students with the opportunities to learn the knowledge, the skills and the vocabulary which will enable them to move on with ambition and confidence to the next phase of their life, in terms of their academic progress, their sense of community and charity and their practical skills. St Peter’s staff know their students; we discover the individual talents of each child, and students are in an environment where they want to learn and where they can naturally discover their true passions.
The curriculum is thoughtfully sequenced, and designed to deliver both knowledge and skills for next steps. It is delivered through high quality teaching based on cognitive science and means our students are routinely experiencing expert modelling, feedback, opportunities for deliberate practice and questioning, all designed to remove obstacles to learning and progress and to develop young learners who will reach their potential.
Further information on out curriculum strategy is available from Mr McAteer. Please contact the school.
Catholic Social Teaching is at the heart of the student experience at St Peter’s; students are taught about dignity of the human person, solidarity with the poor, the benefit of working for the Common Good and Peace Education. At St Peters, our hope is for our students to flourish into young adults, morally, spiritually, culturally, and physically ready to take their place in the modern world with a clear sense of what is right.
Our young people experience joy and celebration as an integral part of their school life.
