At St. Peter’s RC High School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. The wellbeing of our students is our highest priority, and we take our responsibility to protect and care for them extremely seriously.
We have a comprehensive pastoral system designed to ensure every child feels valued and supported. Each student has a dedicated form tutor and access to their Head of Year, who work closely with families to provide guidance and care.
Our Safeguarding Team, led by the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), is always available to respond to concerns and ensure that students are safe both in and out of school. This team works in partnership with external agencies to provide the highest level of protection.
We have a large safeguarding team, as shown in the poster below, so students always have someone they can turn to.
In addition, we offer a range of Student Support Services, including:
- A full-time, in-house counsellor for emotional and mental health support.
- Access to external wellbeing resources and specialist services.
- Targeted interventions for students who need extra help.
Our commitment is clear: every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported. If you have any concerns or would like more information about safeguarding and wellbeing at St. Peter’s, please contact our Safeguarding Team.
