GROWS The Animal Experience 2021 FREE 2-day event for Year 10

Ever wondered how you can turn your love for animals into a future career, or what animal-related subjects you can study after GCSEs?

Make the most of this exciting opportunity to explore animal husbandry, handling and feeding, wildlife conservation, find out about animal-related opportunities, have a go at practical activities in a lab and much more!

Over the Animal Experience you will enhance your animal knowledge, try out new things and visit specialist animal facilities at three local higher education providers, Cirencester College, the Royal Agricultural University and Hartpury College and University.

Here are just some of the activities the event will include:

  • Visiting an animal care centre, home to 64 different species
  • An animal husbandry session
  • Reptile demonstration
  • An interactive wildlife conservation walk
  • Exploring animal feed and blood samples in the lab
  • Touring an equine centre and learning about horse therapy
  • Visiting a working farm, and more!

The event will be running on Saturday 26th June (9:30am - 15:15pm) and Sunday 27th June (9:30am - 15:00pm) at Cirencester College, The Royal Agricultural University (Saturday) and Hartpury College and University (Sunday). Priority will be given to those pupils who meet certain postcode criteria (see the GROWS website for more details) and parent / guardian consent is required.

All activities are risk assessed and we will be following COVID 19 guidelines. Unless exempt you will be required to wear a facemask during certain activities/in certain areas. For access to certain campuses you will be required to demonstrate a negative lateral flow test result to the GROWS Team prior to attending.
