GCSE Results August 2021

Congratulations to all our students on their excellent GCSE results! Students have worked really hard to achieve such a high standard across all subjects which has been reflected in the impressive grades awarded.

This year has been extremely testing for all involved, with long periods of remote education both last year and this year, with lots of students having to self-isolate at various times and, of course, with external examinations being replaced by thorough internal assessments.

We are delighted with excellent individual results, including from the following students who attained all grades at 7+ - 9 (all equal to an old grade A/A*):

Anna who achieved 8 grade 9s and 1 grade 8;

Ivy who achieved 8 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s;

Isabella who achieved 7 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s;

Charlotte who achieved 7 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s;

Phoebe who achieved 4 grade 9s and 4 grade 8s;

Bethany who achieved 5 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s;

Christopher who achieved 4 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 1 7;

Esme who achieved 3 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s;

Edward who achieved 3 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s.

We are very proud of all our students’ results; they have been remarkably resilient and have more than met the challenge of the changes to the grading system this year.

Staff have demonstrated professionalism, integrity and rigour during the process of assessing students.

We are excited now to welcome so many of our year 11 students – as well as students from many other schools – into our newly refurbished student-centred sixth form where they will pursue both A-level and/or vocational courses and move on to the challenge of the next stage of their education as part of the unique St Peter’s #greenarmy family.

Stephanie Layhe, Principal, said, ‘We are immensely proud of our students as they have not only achieved excellent results but have demonstrated huge resilience and determination to succeed.

‘I would like to thank the teaching and support staff at St Peter’s for their endless care and support not only for students but for their colleagues also.  We have relied heavily on our mission statement and our core ROCK values of respect, optimism, community and kindness to guide us through a uniquely challenging period and our students have done us proud. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the families in our community and also our Governors for their tremendous support.’
