Frequency of homework

Regular learning and revision in preparation for a module assessment and key words and definitions test that will take place every half term.

Regular learning and revision in preparation for one extended GCSE assessment every half term and an essential terminology test.

 

Type of homework

Revision tasks and study skills in order to prepare for the regular assessments and the key words and definitions tests. Students will also need to follow up on teacher feedback.

During the spring term, students will also complete a multi faith project and presentation.

Learning key pieces of scripture, quotations, essential terminology, Church teachings and contrasting beliefs in secular society.

Other tasks may include completing past exam questions, study exercises, extended responses, exam technique, reviewing and memorising, following up on feedback on assessments.

 Time expected to complete homework

35 – 45 minutes per week as students progress from Year 7 to Year 9.

60 minutes per week.

 Methods of assessment

Each half term students will complete a key words and definitions test followed by a formal assessment that is linked to the module of study. These will be assessed by the teacher and timely personalised individual feedback given as well as whole class feedback.

 

Each half term students will complete an essential terminology test followed by a formal GCSE module assessment. These will be assessed by the class teacher and timely personalised individual feedback given as well as whole class feedback.

This will be in line with exam board specifications and will be moderated departmentally.
