Every Wednesday afternoon students at St Peter’s sixth form have the opportunity to take part in our enrichment programme – a package designed to make sure that students have something other than just their academic accomplishments to talk about when they apply for that next step in their career.
Enrichment can take whatever form students like it to. For some, they play competitive sport in our Rugby, Football, Hockey and Netball teams, whilst other students choose to go to the gym, take advantage of our neighbouring dry-slope for some skiing, or head into Gloucester to use the rock-climbing facilities.
Other students choose to pursue work experience, and head out to local businesses on a Wednesday to get a taste of a real working environment. Some students complete EPQ, the extended project qualification that gives students extra points towards University entry, whilst some complete Duke of Edinburgh qualifications and outward bounds. We also have film club, primary teaching, teaching assistant roles, and several other options available.
Enrichment can take whatever form students want it to, as long as it enriches their experience of further education.
